About the Position: This position is assigned to the Office of the Commander, Soldier Support Institute, Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Serve as the G1, Human Resource Specialist (Military) Enlisted Strength/Manpower for the Institute, with responsibility for management, analysis and dissemination of technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military programs.
Participate in the implementation and administration of a variety of staff assignments in various military human resources program areas.
Participate in monitoring the execution and implementation of the Department of the Army policy on Military Human Resources Services Programs and ensures the level of services is consistent throughout the Team.
Formulate and coordinate personnel replacement and policies and procedures regarding replacements within the organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) appr. up to 5% of the time away from home station.

Specialized experience: One year specialized experience in the Federal service which includes 1) providing guidance and advice to assigned personnel within the Command; 2) understanding and researching command policies and regulations; 3) researching laws, regulations, policies, and established procedures AND 4) providing guidance and assistance to individuals across the agency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
