The selectee for this position will serve as a System Administrator in the Information Systems and Services Division of SUBMEPP ACTIVITY.
Duties
You will manage the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and tuning of selected computer systems hardware, environmental software, and communications facilities for assigned systems.
You will plan assigned computer systems infrastructures by analyzing requirements and proposing alternatives.
You will implement and support assigned computer systems security by providing technical management of the development, implementation, and auditing of system access and use procedures.
You will educate users and technical staff regarding hardware, environmental software, and communications concepts and procedures.
You will develop technical operating procedures to provide on-going and day-to-day technical support of computer systems and applications.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
For GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing information technology services in system and database administration that included evaluating computer systems hardware and environmental software to resolve operability issues.. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing information technology services monitoring system and server performance and referring problems to more experienced specialists. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify (GS-11 level only) with the following education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
Completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
