You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (COMMAND AND STAFF PROGRAM) of NAS OCEANA.
Duties
You will be responsible for the administration, planning, directing and monitoring of Information, Personnel and Industrial Security management programs for the command.
You will establish and administer a command Continuous Evaluation program.
You will ensure that all personnel who handle classified information or assigned to sensitive duties are appropriately vetted.
You will serve as the command authority for the administration of unfavorable personnel security eligibility determinations.
You will ensure that SIPRNet rooms are secured under conditions adequate to deter and detect access by unauthorized persons.
You will develop written command information and personnel security instructions, security operating procedures, and supplemental guidelines.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Enforcing protective measures for safeguarding information critical to national security; 2) Implementing procedures for marking, safeguarding, dissemination, transmission, transportation, escorting, hand-carry, storage and destruction of classified materials; 3)Ensuring personnel security clearance eligibility is continuously evaluated; 4) Submitting Personnel Security Investigation (PSI) applications through Electronic Questionnaires for Investigative Processing (e-QIP) or official system of record to track investigations to completion and adjudication; and 5) Reporting threats to national security, loss, compromise, electronic spillages, and other violations.

Education
Applicants can qualify based on education in the following manner:
Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field directly related to the position.
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that is directly related to the work of the position.
OR
LL.M. if related to the position. (Note: if you are using education to qualify, you must submit a copy of your transcripts).
OR
Have a combination of experience and education which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement. (Note: This information must be supported in your resume and you must also submit a copy of your transcripts).
