You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Executive Department, Fleet Readiness Center Mid Atlantic of ARCFT INTERMED MAINT DEPT OCEANA.

Duties

You will initiate personnel security clearance investigations. You will plan, direct, implement and operate an information and personnel security program in accordance with established guidelines, methods, and techniques. You will review Personnel Security Investigations, advising, assisting and interviewing personnel for proper completion of required documents. You will establish and maintain, in accordance with prescribed guidelines, complete security files and records for all personnel, military and civilian, who are assigned to the command. You will maintain and applies proper protective systems, methods, and procedures in order to ensure integrity of classified or sensitive information and safeguard classified material against breaches of security. You will be designated as Operations Security (OPSEC) Officer responsible for administering the OPSEC program.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing security concepts, principles and policy requirements as they relate to information, personnel, physical, industrial, operational, information processing systems, and communications security. Analyzing and resolving difficult and complex security problems. Developing local policy and instructions. Planning, directing, and administering a long-range Physical Security Program. Utilizing communicative and interview skills. Education


Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related

OR

Combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience.
