Duties

As a Lead Budget Analyst you will: Perform complex budget development, formulation and/or execution functions for substantive HHS programs or administrative budget areas. Monitor, reviews and reconciles commitments, obligations, reimbursable orders, etc. Provide technical direction, advice and guidance to team members. Work with managers and program specialists in the development of annual work plans and schedules for the execution of approved budgets.

Minimum Qualifications: To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing technical direction, advice, and guidance to team members by assigning, coordinating, and reviewing work assignments; analyzing, interpreting, and implementing budgetary policies, practices, and procedures; providing authoritative interpretation, advice and assistance to program managers and budget staff; AND formulating budget estimates for multi-year programs by tracking obligations, expenditures, and the flow of funds. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
