You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the SUBMARINE MANAGEMENT BRANCH, NAVAL ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING DIVISION, NAVAL ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of CARDEROCK DIV NS.

Duties

You will serve as a Deputy Principal/Assistant Project Manager for Sustainability in the Columbia Class Program Office, PMS397 and Program Executive Office SSBN. You will manage product support programs for the acquisition and/or Life Cycle Sustainment Management of integrated product support functions. You will serve as the senior logistic authority, Fleet consultant and a product support subject matter expert in the operation, maintenance, and product support of a wide variety of complex equipment, systems and platforms. You will ensure the Capability Development Document (CDD) requirements for availability, reliability, sustainment, operations support cost, training and manpower are met. You will direct the product support definition, transition, and implementation of next generation systems. You will partner with Fleet representatives and other Program Offices for product support matters, serve on Senior Management advisory Committees, and assist in the formulation and execution of goals, plans, and budgets for the Directorate. You will provide oversight and direction to ensure all program requirements have proper product support for relevant system, system-of-systems, and product development and execution have support throughout their life cycle.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You may be required to lift objects up to 40 lbs in weight.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing and analyzing submarine in-service sustainment project requirements to develop reports and recommendations to improve product support functions or resource management for a warfare program.
