This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Patient Care Models Group (PCMG).
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will serve as Deputy Director of the Patient Care Models Group with overall responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing the design, development, analyses, and implementation of complex Medicare FFS payment
models.
Duties
Exercises supervisory authority over the PCMG staff in conjunction with the PCMG Director. In the absence of the PCMG Director, supervises, directs and coordinates the work of a staff of 60 civilian personnel GS-07 through GS-15.
Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates and controls resources required to assure the timely, accurate, and cost effective accomplishment of the Group's functional responsibilities.
Develops and manages complex Medicare FFS payment models and programs that test innovative payment and service delivery approaches to examine implications for Medicare policy and regulations.
Manages the development of new specialized medical payment and delivery models and programs.
Represents the PCMG Director at meetings, on task forces, and working groups, internally and externally, as needed.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
Managing, designing, or developing projects or studies related to improving healthcare payment reform; AND
Planning, organizing, or assessing work activities for employees or teams to ensure that program operational goals are met; AND
Coordinating projects that aim to improve quality and access of a healthcare program.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
