You will serve as a MECHANICAL WORK CONTROL SPECIALIST in the REPAIR DEPARTMENT (CODE 300), WORK PACKAGING AND CONTROL GROUP (Code 305) TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY (TRIREFFAC-KB) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.

Duties

You will receive formal work packages, control work packages, and logistical technical documents and assemble into a comprehensive work package. You will assist and/or review required work and associated components for development of system level isolation strategies. You will review, analyze, and develop appropriate component/system isolation(s) to perform required maintenance actions. You will analyze, review, and verify ship's systems conditions are established for maintenance and isolation of components/systems. You will perform planning, preparation, and assist with coordination of a comprehensive program for complex multi-disciplinary (primarily, electrical, and mechanical) and interdependent ships systems. You will determine status of the configuration of systems being worked and evaluate changes to systems reconfigured as required.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • Position is designated as security IT Level II.
  • This position may require travel worldwide at which time additional medical screening may be required.

Qualifications

For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience receiving all Formal Work Packages (FWPs) and Control Work Packages (CWPs) from planning and logistical technical documents from the technical library and assemble all documentation into a comprehensive work package. Experience reviewing required work and associated components for development of system level isolation strategies. Experience reviewing, analyzing, and developing appropriate component/system isolation(s) to perform required maintenance actions; and write Work Authorization Forms (WAFs); obtain Subject Matter Expert (SME) concurrence and process through final completion of work. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience receiving and assembling Control Work Packages and Logistical Technical Data documents associated with mechanical systems on submarines. Experience using a database to track documents. Experience assisting with writing work forms documents.
