About the Position: Serve as a key financial advisor in the Financial Operations and Accounting (FOA) Directorate and as Department of the Army (DA) focal point for issues and actions related to compliance with the Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Act of 1990 and related Administration, Congressional, Department of Defense, and Department of the Army financial management initiatives including but not limited to, Federal financial statement audits. if selected for Indy, position will be remote.

Duties

Establish points-of-contact and works closely with Headquarters Department of Army (HQDA) staff elements. Coordinate and participate in auditor site visits to all Army commands and organizations, facilitates audit sampling and sampling response, reviews draft and final Notices of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs) and audit reports. Represent Army at high-level meetings with OSD, other Military Departments and Defense Agencies on matters involving implementation of and compliance with the CFO Act and with related statutory and Administration financial management initiatives. Promote the understanding and effective application of DA and higher authority policies, systems, procedures and regulations, as well as providing on the spot technical assistance. Ensure that financial management activities associated with financial statement or SOC audits, such as Army Audit Agency (AAA), DoDIG, or Government Accountability Office (GAO) report responses, and properly coordinated and responded to.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 3 Certified position designated.
  • Drug test required.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accounting AnalysisFinancial Concepts, Policies, and PrinciplesOral CommunicationWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
