This position is in the Office of Facilities and Administrative Services. The incumbent analyzes data to determine needs and reports on metrics; maintains Contracting Officers Representative (COR) status; performs surveys of data; supports operations, and manages projects. This position is designated as a Mission Critical Emergency Employee, subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations of the Main Interior Building (MIB) or Office of the Secretary (OS) responsibilities.
Duties
Conducts facility/building surveys and studies to evaluate the environmental condition of office space and the mechanical condition of utility and equipment systems.
Prepares analyses including recommendations for improvement or change and associated cost factors. Identifies areas requiring attention and arranges to have the work completed.
Develops preventive maintenance plans that include cost justifications, analysis of equipment deterioration and malfunctions, safety factors and risks, and energy conservation requirements.
Implements the preventive-maintenance program to achieve the most efficient and economical standard of maintenance, employee safety and comfort, peak equipment operation, and building condition and appearance.
Reviews technically complex requests for repairs and alterations to assure compliance with building utility and delivery systems, safety, energy requirements, and codes.
Assesses quality of workmanship, adherence to safety regulations and requirements, and the satisfactory completion of work.
Responds to facilities emergencies for the protection of occupants and property, and to maintain total operation and continued services for tenants in the Interior Complex.
Qualifications
At the GS-12 level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to: experience conducting facility surveys for a large complex, developing preventive maintenance plans, making recommendations for improvement based on studies, and experience reviewing requests for repair to assure compliance to building requirements.
