Duties

This position allows you to use your knowledge and experience supervising employees providing services in direct support of operational programs. This position starts at a salary of $88,525.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $115,079.00 (GS-12, Step 10). As a Supervisory Mission Support Specialist, your duties and responsibilities include: Supervising a team that coordinates and performs a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of USBP; Advising management on administrative matters; conducting or participating in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems, and methods to identify areas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services; Overseeing a team that researches, evaluates, prioritizes and recommends solutions for critical issues; Supervising a team of administrative personnel and speaks authoritatively on in-depth knowledge of policies, commitments and interests.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Advising personnel about pay, leave, benefits and eligibility for workers' compensation benefits; Reviewing documents and correspondence for accuracy and completeness; Advising management in making confidential determinations for complex issues; Overseeing expenditures to ensure allocations, commitments, and expenditures are projected and spent accordingly; Performing tasks associated with creating requisitions and purchase orders to ensure budget approvals; Identifying, evaluating and making recommendations to management for appropriate interventions to resolve complex and interrelated problems and issues related to finance; Assisting with developing and recommending solutions to a range of logistical operations and technical issues to evaluate and improve services and processes. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 05/03/2024. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
