Duties

This position allows you to use your knowledge and experience for leading the development and implementation of key mission support processes for the organization with program responsibility over mission support policy, logistics, procurement, workforce and position management, and financial programs and services. This position starts at a salary of $118,291.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $153,776.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,776.00 (GS-14 Step 10). The Supervisory Mission Support Specialist (Division Chief) manages a Mission Support Team through subordinate supervisors; Duties and responsibilities include: Advising the Sector Chief Patrol Agent and other senior supervisory on key mission support processes and developing overall operational plans, objectives and strategies for the processes; Developing, testing and adapting new methods and theories; developing and implementing short and long term plans to improve delivery of services, adding new services, and upgrading facilities to assure the best services are provided; Directing and overseeing the execution of budget, logistics, procurement and quality assurance programs; ensuring the implementation of national financial policies and integration with Agency operational processes; Directing and overseeing a full range of supervisory functions for a staff that provides a diverse range of mission support services by setting priorities and scheduling for the completion of assigned work and tasks; assuring equity of performance standards, rating techniques employed by subordinate supervisors in the assessment of subordinates.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Working with a budget to ensure position and funding ceilings are not exceeded; Managing a variety of projects and assignments related to the management and program operations of the organization; Advising senior management related to workforce management, budget and other related projects and programs; Coordinating functions, implementing plans in concert with other work groups, and ensure all involved are informed of ongoing activities; Identifying and analyzing problems to distinguish relevant information and providing options for problem resolution. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 08/28/2023.
