About the Position: An Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) for the US Army Corps of Engineers' Wilmington Division, located in Wilmington, NC. This position is within the Engineering, Construction, and Planning Division - Construction Branch.
Duties
Manage appointments, receives visitors, mail distribution, budgeting,
Collect data for several office operations, analyze the data, set up controls to monitor them and independently troubleshoot as needed.
Prepare and review contract modification packages to ensure completeness.
Collect data for the office operating budget; set up controls to monitor expenses during the year.
Make purchases through open market purchase by blanket agreement, cash order or similar methods, processes and tracks purchase documents.
Composes written correspondence from a short phrase/idea, verbal instruction or rough note.
Prepares correspondence in accordance with applicable regulations and guidance.
Recommend budget adjustments including restructuring budget allocations to deal with changing situations such as varying costs for equipment or services and changes in the availability of funds.
Establish and maintain office technical and administrative files in accordance with applicable regulations.
Supply management and purchasing, personnel administration, training, time keeping, data processing, vehicle fleet management, property management, project tracking and records management.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to lift documents or packages up to 15 lbs.
- TDY up to 10% may be required.
- A Qualified Typist is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Provides information needed regarding contract administration requirements including the status of changes, modifications, payment requests, funding and financial status of projects.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Education
