This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties
Select, apply, and interpret electronic principles and practices to collect, reduce, display, and analyze calibration data for a wide variety of complex general and special purpose
Assist and advise users in the application of, and calibration requirements for TMDE in support of their mission.
Prepare calibration reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections factors, and measurement uncertainty for instruments being calibrated.
Identify and document errors in existing procedures and provide information used for the development of technical documents used for TMDE calibration and certification.
Implement, adapt, modifies and develops technical procedures required by changing user or equipment requirements.
Requirements

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time. Are you willing and able to travel away from your permanent duty station up to 10% of the time?

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator, WG-3378-11 without more than normal supervision. A. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex duties of troubleshooting techniques to A. prepare calibration reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections factors, and measurement uncertainty for instruments being calibrated. B. I have the ability to interface with user, manufacturer, and US Army TMDE Activity engineers as necessary to clarify questionable areas concerning the use and accuracy of instruments or nonstandard TMDE. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. C. I have the ability to Identifies and documents errors in existing procedures and provides information used for the development of technical documents used for TMDE calibration and certification. D. I have the ability to utilize knowledge of computer operating systems and office software to operate automated calibration systems, document test results, and prepare reports. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending during the course of extended periods on measurements. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
