About the Position: Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. Duties
Supervise workers, directly or through leaders, in the calibration and repair of a wide range of calibration standards.
Participate in studies and making tests to determine limitations of test equipment; and functions designed to increase the accuracy and effectiveness of the assigned calibration and repair program.
Study and analyze work operations and makes changes in work assignments or equipment layouts to assure timely accomplishment of assigned workload in accordance with customer priorities.
Advise customers relative to repair and calibration of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment.
Execute administrative and personnel management responsibilities related to the accomplishment of the mission assigned.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to Supervise the work of Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrators. Applicants must meet the screen out element to be considered further. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience in the following: I am able to perform common Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator Supervisor tasks including: Performing the full range of operations on precision measurement equipment used in a calibration environment; Assisting in unusual situations such as providing guidance on technical problems not previously encountered or to advice on situations which are not covered by established operating procedures; Guiding, motivating, and overseeing the activities of individuals and teams with focus on projects/programs issues. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
