About the Position: This position serves as a Process Improvement Specialist (Master Black Belt) for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

Duties

Serve as the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Master Black Belt (MBB), Provide guidance, direction, and coaching in the conduct of business improvement activities across United States Special Operations Command (USASOC). Work with USASOC Senior Leaders across the enterprise as the principal change agent/advisor to identify potential improvement opportunities. Coordinate initiatives throughout USASOC and functions as the coordinating office for communications between USASOC, USSOCOM, DA, other Army and USSOCOM organizations, Department of Defense agencies, and private industry. Serve as a senior trainer for Army Master Black Belt, Black Belt, Green Belt, and Project Identification and Selection Workshops. Work with senior leadership as a critical change agent in assuring, directing, and performing the steps necessary to create business cases based on objective data within the framework.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 40% of the time.
  • Position requires the incumbent to obtain a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification that is recognized by Department of Army upon selection.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing views and leading process owners toward workable, more efficient processes for accomplishing identified goals; organizing details of multiple subjects, issues, position and situations and presenting options; designing, developing, maintaining, and conducting Lean Six Sigma training courses; and advising leadership on Lean Six Sigma concepts and methodologies to identify business process improvement opportunities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
