This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Immediate Office. The position mission is to provide professional, proactive support to the WHS Director and Deputy Director and facilitate Enterprise synchronization efforts through a focused approach on mission accomplishment and enhanced customer satisfaction. The incumbent serves as an advisor in the formulation, direction, and execution of polices and activities to achieve this mission.
Duties
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
Plans and conducts reviews, analysis and evaluations of programs, issues, mission and functions, resource utilization, management-controls, work processes and procedures to improve organization economies, efficiencies, effectiveness, and productivity.
Provides technical support for a wide range of assignments to include: providing information to inform corporate oversight responsibilities for one or more Enterprise components and associated organizations and/or supporting other councils, groups, or teams.
Participates and/or leads cross-organizational working groups, teams, or other integrated groups often in a federated environment in managing support actions, conducting analyses, and conducting studies in support of DA&M Enterprise functions and responsibilities.
Prepares briefing papers, position papers, replies to Congress and other governmental inquiries, and similar matters dealing with substantive WHS operations, practices, organization, and relationships.
Provides advice, assistance, direction, and technical analysis, informed by focused research, on policy, planning, strategy, and resource management issues that are assigned with specific focus on the emerging strategies.
Serves as an experienced management analyst performing the full-range of analytical assignments involving complex issues and concerns of the executive leadership.
Requirements

- This position may require occasional travel away from your normal duty station for official business on military or commercial aircraft
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or overtime

You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your experience in: 1) Providing strategic planning and support on high level agency activities; 2) Leading cross-organizational efforts and making recommendations to key staff.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
