Duties
You will schedule and track all training data relative to the execution of training.
You will provide all forms of information security Certification and Accreditation (C and A) support as required for systems utilized.
You will direct and oversee, for all systems, implementation of IA policies and procedures.
You will review computer systems, software, hardware, and network architecture to identify security threats.

- This position requires emergency recall at any hour.
- You must possess or willing and able to obtain a minimum certification of Security Plus within three months of being hired.
- You must possess a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Temporary assigned duty (TAD) may be required, both nationally and internationally, approximately 20%.
- Incumbent may be recalled to work at any hour in case of emergency.
- Applicant/incumbent must possess or be able to obtain a minimum certification of Security Plus within three months of being hired.
Qualifications
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: comprehensively analyze policies and procedures, review and evaluate the impact of new guidance on current programs and recommends changes to existing plans and policies to ensure compliance and responsiveness.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: works with and coordinates with system owners and program managers with change, configuration, and patch management processes.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: influence and persuade employees and managers to accept and implement findings and recommendations regarding organizational conflict, competing objectives, or resource problems.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: develop and apply new techniques, technologies, and applications to previously unsolvable problems and recommend solutions to influence agency IT policies or programs as they affect utilities infrastructure.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates: Developing, managing and maintaining an Information Assurance (IA) program for an organization; OR diagnose and isolate problems with information technology systems, user action, software, or COMMs interfaces; OR oversee infrastructure management, maintenance of systems, technology upgrades, and application and server support; OR perform technical work in the planning, development, installation application software and modification of information technology services.
