You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Project Plan and Test Management Branch (291) of the Combat Systems Engineering and Planning Division (290) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will assure production and accuracy of work. You will set and adjust short term priorities and schedules. You will identify and arrange developmental and training needs of employees.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience making decisions in difficult situations. Experience identifying and resolving changing work situations. Experience monitoring cost and schedule performance and taking action to correct negative trends. Experience utilizing project management fundamentals; Experience applying shop practices.
