About the Position: This position is located at the Directorate of Human Resources, Joint Base Myer - Henderson Hall, Virginia. Fort Myer is a 15 minute commute to/from the Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station, a 10-15 minute commute to/from the Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station, and is accessible by bus transportation. The installation is approximately 7 miles from Washington D.C. and a short distance from major roadways and express highways.

Duties

Serve as the Supervisor of a Military Personnel Division Branch. Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations and activities of the branch. Perform Human Resource Specialist (Military) duties related to the personnel information and personnel readiness matters. Plan and coordinate the Installation eMILPO Program data base accuracy, unit strength accounting, individual soldier data accuracy programs. Assignments, promotions, separations, retirements services, replacements, awards and decorations, casualty operations, soldier readiness program, in/out processing, student processing, ID cards, files maintenance, etc. Perform delegated personnel management functions. Tier 1 investigation. One year probationary period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves providing guidance, interpretations and training on current and proposed policies. Provide accurate and timely guidance to request for information received from various inquiries. Prepare written reports. Provide personnel information support, training, and technical assistance. Ensure automated systems are operable for military personnel functions. Maintains manpower and performance data and conducts performance counseling. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources or Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
