About the Position: This position is located at the Directorate of Human Resources, Joint Base Myer - Henderson Hall, Virginia.
???????Fort Myer is a 15 minute commute to/from the Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station, a 10-15 minute commute to/from the Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station, and is accessible by bus transportation. The installation is approximately 7 miles from Washington D.C. and a short distance from major roadways and express highways.
Duties
Serves as a Human Resources Specialist in the Military Personnel Division for the Fort Myer Military Community (FMMC).
Reviews, analyzes and interprets regulations, directives, and other material relating to all facets of military personnel administration.
Develops plans to provide for integrated administrative services including processing of personnel actions and controls of correspondence and other office actions.
Serves as technical advisor on regulatory media pertaining to administration, staffing, qualifications/classifications ratings, separation, promotions, boards, awards, and other related personnel matters.
Reviews correspondence, reports, and directives prepared by technicians in the field for accuracy, format, sufficiency and propriety of actions taken.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying fundamental military human resources concepts, laws, policies and practices, knowledge of analytical and evaluative techniques to perform management advisory services, experience in clerical and administrative tasks, and automated data systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. [remove LL.B or J.D., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study].

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????07).
