This position is located in the Laundry Section of Environmental Management Service at the Veterans Healthcare System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The employee will process hospital linens, employee uniforms and patient wearing apparel on a timely basis to meet general production schedules.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: The employee needs physical ability for accomplishment of heavy physical tasks for extended periods. Physical demands include pushing heavy carts; lifting loads of over 50 lbs.; pulling wet wash from washer/extractor and continual bending, stooping, walking and standing on concrete floors. Working conditions include machinery noise; hot and humid atmosphere; offensive odors while sorting and washing soiled linen, which is contaminated with infectious organisms and having wet clothing and shoes while pulling laundry loads. Incumbent is subjected to the possibility of minor cutes, scrapes, bruises and needle wounds. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications.
