About the Position: This position is located at the 43D AG BN at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood MO.

Duties

Serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation) performing clerical tasks pertinent to the initiation, review, and verification of military personnel data and records for enlisted personnel entering the service. Perform quality control output by verifying data received from the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). Research a variety of military regulations and directives to determine the proper action for correction on enlistment contracts. Provide basic information (i.e., length of training, pay and entitlements, promotion criteria, and a brief description of the Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) for which the Soldiers will be trained. Perform accurate data entry and processing through the Defense Eligibility Enrollment System (DEERS) database systems.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing a variety of counseling and clerical tasks pertinent to the initiation, review, and verification of personnel data and records for enlisted personnel entering the service. OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Qualified Typist Requirement: In addition to meeting the experience/or education requirements, for all positions titled as Office Automation or any clerical positions which has parenthetical title of Office Automation (OA), applicants must have typing proficiency of 40 words per minute (wpm) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer LiteracyOral CommunicationPersonnel Action Processing and RecordkeepingWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
