You will serve as a DATA SCIENTIST in the NAVAL AUDIT SERVICE (NAVAUDSVC) of NAVAUDGEN.
Duties
You will serve as the senior Data Scientist, and identify, develop, and integrate information from internal and external sources through various data collection procedures including emerging data science and big data methodologies.
You will consult and educate internal auditors and other analysts to plan and provide analytical solutions to make the auditors more productive.
You will use advanced techniques to evaluate the application of computer programs to determine the desired selection, analytical and statistical computations, analyses, and acceptable output formatting based on network constraints.
You will recommend additions or modifications to existing hardware, software, and data architecture to best support the audit mission.
You will establish reports and presentations that include data visualizations for auditors, senior leaders and external groups to interpret data outputs and results.
You will use programming and statistical software and tools for proper data analysis to identify ways to improve data reliability determination, efficiency and quality.
You will review data and information in agency work products to ensure conformance with agency policies, and develop long-range strategy and plans to leverage and assess data tools for future mission support.
You will direct and oversee planning and execution of subordinates' work assignments.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience leading work on large and complex data sets and performing extensive analysis of volumes of data through macros, pivot tables, etc.
- Experience designing and delivering frameworks to facilitate the data development lifecycle and design.
- Experience in implementation integration of cloud-based data solutions.
- Experience applying information systems security principles and concepts.
- Experience producing authoritative reports, position papers, briefings, and presentations that are clear and concise.

Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
