About the Position: Serves as Representative of the Essential Personnel Services, USARAK G1, responsible for directing the operation of the Command Awards Program, Congressional and Presidential Inquiries, Officer Candidate School and Green to Gold Programs.

Duties

Provides direction to personnel assigned to the division Awards Program to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, guidance and policy from the Command, US Army Pacific (USARPAC) and Department of the Army (DA). Processes answers to Congressional and Presidential Inquiries from Soldiers and Civilian personnel. Analyzes correspondence, outlines options, and recommends or takes appropriate action. Uses the IPPS-A system. Directs and oversees the work of military personnel assigned to Essential Personnel Services.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a T3 security clearance.

Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes providing advice or guidance on a range of military personnel functions such as personnel actions, promotions, awards, evaluations, separations, etc.; conducting research to determine validity or appropriateness of personnel actions or awards; and compiling information to identify trends and analyze data for reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. [remove LL.M., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study]. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: HR Information Systems ApplicationManages and Organizes InformationPersonnel and Human ResourcesTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
