Position is located within the FAA, Aviation Safety (AVS), Office of Rulemaking (ARM). The Program Analyst applies regulatory, policy, and process management strategies to the FAA Committee program focused on providing improved aviation safety through timely and appropriate regulatory action.
Duties
The Program Analyst performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager or more experienced professional. Typical assignments includes attending committee meetings, collecting and analyzing data, conducting research, and assisting higher level or lower level staff members in day-to-day operations, such as the committee process and serving as an Alternate Federal Register Liaison. Attends committee meetings to collect information to provide updates to manager on committee activities.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders; supporting committees, panels, or work groups; collecting and analyzing data; conducting research; and assisting higher level staff members in day-to-day operations. Experience in program or project management.OR3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Education must be directly related to the position.To qualify for this position at the H-band you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G, FG/GS-10/11. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders; supporting committees, panels, or work groups; collecting and analyzing data; conducting research; and assisting higher level staff members in day-to-day operations. Experience in program or project management. Experience interpreting and applying laws, policies, and regulations governing one or more programs in order to answer questions, provide advice and guidance to others, and solve problems. If the selecting official decides to interview any employee on the selection list for a vacancy, then all who remain under consideration for the position at that point in the process must be interviewed. If the selection list is shortened to a best qualified list through a comparative process, then the best qualified list shall be considered to be the selection list.
