You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (APPSW) in the Information Technology and Cyber Security Department of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will exercise technical and administrative supervision of a subordinate staff of personnel engaged in development of applications to support of the mission and efficiency.
You will analyze problems regarding quality of work, or the operating effectiveness of the Branch, and take corrective action.
You will keep abreast of new technologies, practices, and processes ensuring they are in concert with Federal, DOD, DON and NAVSEA goals in order to take advantage of the rapidly changing IT environment.
You will review and monitor current and future workload requirements as provided to support shipyard production and maintenance schedules.
You will be provide decisions, solutions, and improved techniques and guidelines in order to affect the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of repair, maintenance and modernization of the US Navy ships and submarines.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for specialty area 45 level I within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport and a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading a development project in software analysis, design, development, and implementation for a new system or major enhancement to an existing system. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
