About the Position: This is a Health System Specialist position with Quality Management at Guthrie Army Health Clinic, Fort Drum, New York.

Duties
Support Quality Management with developing short- and long-term goals to support the credentialing and privileging program.
Review regulatory requirements, Joint Commission (JC) standards, changing laws and precedent to ensure compliance with current Department of Defense and Department of Army.
Review quality assessment findings, risk management evaluations, and malpractice claim actions to ensure appropriate coordination with the credentials/privileging function of the credentials committee.
Consult with the commander and deputies on matters related to credentials and privileging to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Ensure accurate provider data is entered into and maintained in the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) computer application.
Provide guidance to credentialing staff in completing the required documentation of establishing privileges for Healthcare Providers.
Serve as committee coordinator to USA MEDDAC Impaired Health Care Provider Program Committee.
Ensure suspense dates are met in the time sensitive actions for privileges upgrade, biannual renewal, temporary limitations or suspensions and any other time-limited privileging actions.
Escalate findings of opportunities for improvement within the credentialing and privileging program for analysis and corrective action.
Serve as first-line supervisor to personnel by assigning work based on priorities and selective consideration of the difficulty of the assignment and the capability of the employee.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which analyzing organizational performance, reviewing system procedures, and maintaining a processing database. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
