This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The person in this position will independently plan, design, and perform the functions of the Joint Commission (JC) accreditation readiness program as the JC Coordinator and will also serve as the organization's risk management coordinator.

Duties

Plan functions of the Joint Commission accreditation readiness plan for assigned command. Develop or implement tools that measure organization's compliance to the Joint Commission's standards. Interpret Joint Commission standards as they relate to assigned organization's mission. Educate organizational staff through seminars, in-service training, etc., regarding Joint Commission standards and strategies for organizational compliance. Prepare and/or direct staff members to assess compliance in their individual areas. Serve as the USA MEDDAC’s Healthcare Risk Manager

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working in a medical treatment facility analyzing and advising on health care system issues and policies; providing analysis for the quality improvement programs; monitoring/coordinating personnel matters for an organization/department within a medical treatment facility; providing input/recommendations on over all process improvements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level OR equivalent in the federal service (GS-11).
