You will serve as a Branch Head within the Engineering Solutions Division in the Digital Networks & Applications Department (DNA), Digital Analytics Infrastructure & Technology Advancement (DAiTA) Group of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The Branch Head will provide IT enterprise architecture subject matter expertise. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will serve as a Branch head, providing IT enterprise architecture subject matter expertise. You will provide classified and unclassified architecture, design and service IT support for network and infrastructure solutions. You will manage project architecture for infrastructure, network, boundary security, systems administration and hosting of systems and applications. You will provide day-to-day tasking and technical direction/oversight of a team. You will apply technical expertise in project management of IT solutions, IT architecture and design, networking concepts and protocols, and cyber security.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Developer and Manager, proficiency level Advanced, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NM-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing classified and unclassified architecture, design, engineering, and service IT support for network and infrastructure solutions; 2) Technical expertise in all IT functional areas (including but not limited to: project management, design, networks, cyber security) and ability to integrate this expertise with practical knowledge of the mission, objectives, and operations; 3) Applying knowledge of systems development tools, hardware architecture and application software products; 4) Informed of the current state of network infrastructure technologies, ensuring the network remains operational and secure; and 5) Collaborating with all levels of personnel, planning/assigning work, resolving complaints/complex issues, and providing day-to-day tasking and technical direction for a team.
