This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), Atlanta Federal Records Center. This position is under the supervision of the Director of Federal Records Center (FRC) and works closely with all Center facility management personnel. This position manages and coordinates the functions relating to the creation, control, transfers, security, storage, maintenance, reference service, and disposition of federal records carried out at the facility.
Duties
As a Supervisory Archives Specialist, you will:
Supervise a subordinate section staff consisting of archives specialists, and technicians.
Review each transfer of records proposed by agencies.
Analyze Records Center Operations and Federal agency policies, procedures, and programs as they impact the Reimbursable Records Center program.
Negotiate with Federal agencies for the transfer of records, preparation and arrangement of records prior to transfer, restrictions on access to records, and Scanning services to be provided by the Center.
Present center-related workshops.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Developing methods, organizational structures, or management processes to better service both internal and external customers; AND
Leading a team; AND
Analyzing records storage methods to preserve records.
OR
EDUCATION: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field OR 3 full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related.
OR
COMBINATION: You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09level for 52 weeks.
