You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (OA) in the NAVY INSTALLATIONS of NAVBASE KITSAP SEC DET.

Duties

You will input data accurately into the command's personnel security program database to ensure that all required Security forms are verified for completion. You will prepare correspondence in accordance with organization policies and type a variety of documents in final format. You must be able to exercise tactfulness and courteousness when dealing with the general public under normal and adverse conditions. You will process requests for the issuance of personnel installation access, temporary passes, contractor or vendor passes, or visitor passes.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining security files; 2) Creating company identification cards; and 3) Screening of applications and documentation for vehicle decals and passes. In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

I have successfully completed four years of education above high school level.
OR
Must possess a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
