You will serve as a LEAD SECURITY ASSISTANT (OA) in the VISITOR CONTROL CENTER (VCC) of NAVBASE KITSAP SEC DET.
Duties
You will enter badging information into a computer database to control sensitive badging files.
You will use office equipment (e.g., personal computer, fax machines or scanner) to perform a variety of
Administrative tasks.
You will brief employees and visitors on controls and restrictions associated with access to Federal installations.
You will account for badges and their associated accesses for all base personnel and extended visitors through the maintenance of the badge tracking system.
You will control access to secure areas to ensure vehicles or personnel have the appropriate credentials for entry.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Distributing and balancing workloads for subordinates; 2) Providing on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices; 3) Assisting and providing liaison support with all tenant commands clearing personnel, guests, and VIPs for access; and 4) Interpreting and maintaining an understanding of Visitor Control Center Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). NOTE: This experience must be supported by your resume.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
