This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization, Air Traffic Services, Operational Planning and Integration Directorate, Operations (TBO/North-East Corridor (NEC), TBO Strategy & Implementation, AJT-3210. AJT is responsible for Airport Traffic Control Towers (Federal and Contract), Terminal Radar Approach Control facilities, Air Route Traffic Control Centers, and Combined Center Radar Approach Control facilities to guide aircraft through their various phases of flight.
Duties
Incumbent will serve as an Air Traffic Control Specialist applying expert knowledge of air traffic operations and procedures to serve as a senior project manager or team leader for complex, initiatives and projects to evaluate proposed program changes to national air traffic policies, procedures and equipment. In this capacity, performs complex, specialized air traffic control assignments, such as serving on national facility realignment work-groups, Standard Terminal Automation Replacement system (STARS) software planning boards, deficiency review boards and Operational Test & Evaluation. This work directly affects the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace System(NAS).

This experience must have provided a comprehensive knowledge of appropriate air traffic control laws, rules and regulations. Creditable experience must have equipped applicants with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the full range of duties of the position for which application is being made.To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-J / FG/GS-14. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is Experience and expert technical knowledge of air traffic procedures and operations to test and integrate Traffic Flow Management System/Flow Management Data and Services platforms, such as Departure Spacing Program (DSP) and Traffic Situation Display (TSD).
