This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA OPERATIONS DIVISION-RN343.

Duties

Provide Command and Control of DCO operations, incident response, security monitoring, cyber threats and related issues as well as prepares white papers, implementation plans and briefing support for senior leadership. Performs the Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) mission on behalf of the Defense Information System Network and is an integral part of DISA Cyber Security Service Provider team providing services to mission partners and war fighters. Implements, manages, maintains, and analyzes tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and security requirements to protect the DISA Enterprise and the information stored within the enterprise. Responsible for the intrusion detection, incident response, and countermeasure development and executing actions for the Global Infrastructure supporting the DoD, Services and Agencies.

• This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
• Work may require travel away from the normal duty station.
• Salary range includes a Targeted Local Market Supplement (TLMS) in accordance with Section 1599f of Title 10 U.S.C. and Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 1400.25, Volume 3006
• This position requires shift work.
• This position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications and Residential Qualifications in accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series.
• Top Secret/SCI security clearance required.
• Employee may subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience conducting cyber risk and vulnerability assessments; planning and developing security countermeasures; and implementing procedures and methods for protecting IT networks and conducting defensive cyber operations incident management. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.
