Duties

This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021. This position is being filled under AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path. As a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSANALYSIS) at the NH-2210-4 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serving as the Enterprise Transformation Branch Chief and senior technical expert Overseeing IT cloud-based technical and systems requirements, objectives, specifications and products related to the Command's use of DevSecOps processes and tools Identifying and devising technical strategies to achieve operational capabilities using DevSecOps technologies and advanced cyber capabilities Analyzing capabilities of software/hardware/cloud DevSecOps capability delivery solutions against user requirements for feasibility, cost and life-cycle management; recommends performance trade-offs to implementation teams, customers and program managers. Reviewing and analyzing remote computing (cloud) systems, subsystems or system interfaces to satisfy mission requirements and federal/DoD policies and procedures; advocates requirement changes to Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and senior steering groups Establishing technical IT evaluation criteria used to analyze system data outputs; develops, updates and executes hardware and software assessment studies using established criteria

  • A graduate degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Completion of Professional Military Education (PME) – Senior Developmental Education (SDE) or Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) II is highly desirable.
  • Must maintain a Secret clearance

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH 4 , if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-3 (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Understanding of DevSecOps processes and tools Understanding and applying government and commercial cloud technologies and concepts Leading teams, solving complex technical issues Communicating complex technical topics in both written and verbal methods Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series as listed below: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Education
