This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Transportation Command. The incumbent will be responsible for Serving as a Senior Data Engineer and Data Capabilities Team Lead within the Command, Control, Communications and Cyber Systems Directorate.

This position is being filled under AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path.
As a LEAD IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT/PLCYPLN) at the NH-2210-4 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Consults with customers to evaluate functional requirements and translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
Develops and maintains business, systems, and information processes to support enterprise mission needs; develops information technology (IT) rules and requirements that describe baseline and target architectures.
Manages and identifies program high-level technical specifications, which may include application design, cloud computing strategy and adoption, and integration of software applications into a functioning system to meet requirements.
Manages data projects to provide a unique service or product.
Holds responsibility for developing, promoting, and overseeing implementation of data as an asset and the establishment and enforcement of data-related strategies, policies, standards, processes, and governance.

- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance that is required to perform daily duties.
- Employee may be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments
- Employee may be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- This is a cybersecurity position. The employee must attain and maintain the appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline Certificate(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions for the DoD position held, within six months of filling the position.
- This position is designated as Key. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and cannot become a member of the Ready Reserve
- Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the NH NH-04, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Provides leadership in migrating, operating, and managing data in a cloud-based environment
Directs the review, analysis and recommendation of emerging technologies and technical requirements to meet mission objectives.
Leads the review, analysis, assessment and evaluation of technical and contractual regulations
Facilitates the drafting, developing or implementing of plans and procedures based on data-driven metrics.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
