Duties
Plans and directs the activities of employees engaged in a wide variety of First and Second Destination Transportation.
Oversees clerical and complex technical transportation assistant functions.
Arranges economical shipment of freight, processes documentation and tasks associated with the movement of materials
Directs section operations and assigned program segment to provide services in support of transportation/traffic management program.
Sets and adjusts short term priorities and schedules the completion of work.
Participates in meetings with Disposition Services representatives to provide information on the workload accomplished by the branch in support of the mission.
Provides leadership with updates ranging from metrics, trend analysis and issues and/or concerns at DLA Disposition sites so as to provide operational impact based on business model decisions and/or best practices.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Transportation Assistant, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Arranging for the most economical shipment of freight processes and involved in coordinating the movement of inbound and outbound shipments, scheduling and coordinating carrier delivery pick-up of freight.
Planning and directing work operations for a work site or multiple work sites; executing studies to develop new and improved transportation programs and methods
Conducting analyses of operations and resource utilization to evaluate overall effectiveness.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
