The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo.  This position is located in the Operations Department, SITES and Smithsonian Affiliations, Under Secretary for Education, Smithsonian Institution.

Duties

The Financial Management Specialist oversees tasks concerning accounts receivable, revenue forecasting, budget supervision and implementation, as well as funds management and transfer coordination.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Service.  For this position, specialized experience is defined as: Utilizing budget principles and concepts while executing diverse financial and budget-related tasks. Overseeing all facets of accounts receivable management; AND Monitoring and appropriately allocating Federal and Trust funds, as well as scrutinizing revenue projections based on booking data within the data system. OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field of study such as business administration. OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a graduate degree in a field of study such as business administration.Or a Combination: Education and experience may be combined to meet the basic qualifications.
