This position is located in the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Law Enforcement Division, Forensics Unit and will serve as a Policy Advisor in forensics area.

Qualifications
MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Qualifying experience for the GS-13 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-12 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: experience applying the use of forensic genetic genealogy (FGG) to advance unsolved violent crime investigations in support of national initiatives, grants and/or cooperative agreements; experience in the forensic aspects of missing and unidentified persons' investigations; and, experience with forensic DNA lab practices in support of national initiatives, grants and/or cooperative agreements.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:Ability to communicate in writing.Ability to plan and execute work.Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.Knowledge of the laws, regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and methods governing Federal forensic grants or forensic based programs and/or cooperative agreements.
