The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a second-level supervisor; planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory personnel through subordinate supervisors in multiple functions; such as Enterprise Solutions, Network Integration, Systems Training, and Systems Administration.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4) Systems Flight.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Assesses policy needs and develops policy and procedures governing IT activities.
Maintain industry qualifications standards as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) certified instructor.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- Information Assurance (IA) certification is a condition of employment. This position includes IA work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate..
- ..IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13 (or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes: Skill to analyze complexities of existing technology, reviews, revises, and develops policy, initiates plans for enhancements, and provides management sufficient technical and cost analysis information, through written documentation and oral briefings, to render informed judgments.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
In-depth knowledge of a wide range of IT principles, concepts, and methods; specializing in one or more IT areas such as enterprise architecture, systems administration, systems analysis, and network integration.
Knowledge of organization's policy and planning formulation process along with its missions and objectives to prepare IT polices and plans.
Knowledge of budgetary processes, cost-benefit analysis methods, and analysis of performance data to prepare budget recommendations in support of IT requirements. Knowledge of systems architecture, integration techniques and testing methods.
Skill to analyze complexities of existing technology, reviews, revises, and develops policy, initiates plans for enhancements, and provides management sufficient technical and cost analysis information, through written documentation and oral briefings, to render informed judgments.
Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide others toward a goal accomplishment. Leadership ability, including the ability to coach, mentor, and challenge subordinates; ability to adapt leadership style to a variety of situations; and ability to model high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, and respect for the individual by applying these values to daily behaviors.
