The incumbent will serve as Program Support Assistant at the Atlanta VA Health Care System in Decatur, GA in support of the Supply Chain management Service. The Program Support Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to the Supply Chain management Service.
Duties
Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Operates a variety of equipment to perform a full range of services typical of a print shop, including offset press, copier, paper cutter, binding machine, and plate maker.
Sets up, operates, adjusts, and monitors the operation of single or multiple function equipment such as copiers, duplicators, mail processing machines, etc.
Diagnoses equipment malfunctions, operating problems, and performs corrective adjustments.
Prioritize recurring printing an publishing jobs, and ad hoc requests.
Diagnoses equipment malfunctions, operating problems, and performs corrective adjustments. Performs operator maintenance such as daily clean up, lubrication, changing blankets and wicks, checking and replenishing levels of ink developer.
Will process internal customer orders for production photocopying services.
Provides clerical and administrative support to the Logistics supervisors and employees.
Reviews and processes VAPHS internal customer orders for production photocopying services; ensures compliance with established guidelines.
Establishes and maintains hard and electronic files for later retrieval and/or to ensure timeliness of actions.
Ensure that required actions and responses are made within deadlines, and submits data in a timely manner, in accordance with office procedures.
Establishes priorities and advises requester as to which process would best suit their needs and remain in the best interest of good paperwork management.
Assesses customer requests for printing and other logistics services, to recommend creative alternatives to satisfy customer needs.
Learn new publishing applications and apply knowledge gained to to offer a variety of publishing alternatives.
Make recommendations on decisions regarding what also needs to be done to recognize the existence of, and differences among recognizable situations, the evaluation of the subject, phase or issues involved in each task assignment.
Receives calls, greets visitors, screening and referring to appropriate office or staff member.
Demonstrates tact, courtesy, appropriate conduct and behavior when interacting with patients, visitors, and VA employees in the performance of duties as assigned.
Identifies the customer's situation properly and performs tasks required to resolve problems within the established time-frame.
Uses office automation equipment to compose and type a variety of correspondence, reports and other material in final form, or draft format ensuring all formats are correct and in accordance with procedural guidelines.
Integrates data from various types of software to produce final products that are accurate and meet the needs of the office.
Uses the similarities, differences, and integration of the different software programs available, completes nonstandard assignments by selecting the appropriate software type to best accomplish tasks, such as WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, SharePoint, VISTA, PKI, PIV, TMS and Checkpoint, and provides necessary support to the service line staff. Also, edits staff's products for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Provides clerical and administrative support to the Logistics supervisors and employees.
Ensures that actions are accomplished efficiently and in a timely manner to relieves the supervisor of various routine and administrative work items and ensures that the work conforms to the appropriate policies and procedures.
Work Schedule: Monday -Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30pm. Hours may change due to agency need

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 05/01/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
