About the Position: The mission of Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. We provide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training.

Duties

Ensure that there is enough work to keep everyone on the work crew busy. Monitor work during progress and checks work upon completion for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and guidelines. Use a personal computer to make inputs in Logistics Modernization Project (LMP) Depot system of record and various computer databases, such as, Electronic Shop Production System (ESPS) Serve as a working leader over 3 or more employees engaged in trades and labor work. Determine schedules for sub routing considering required date, transportation, and processing time required. Prepares items for routing, assuring proper tagging/documentation and handling. Operate material movement equipment such as forklift, roll-lift, aircraft tug, scooter, and pallet jack to transport materials from and to customer work centers and/or staging areas.

Requirements

  • Must have and maintain a valid civilians driver's license issued by State or U.S. possession in order to obtain and keep current a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain driver's license required to operation of a fork lift.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Frequently required to lift and carry items up to 10 pounds in weight, and will occasionally be required to lift and carry weights up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Mechanical devices and/or other employees are available to assist in lifting the heavier items. Working Conditions: Work is performed in areas where some environmental controls are in place. Work is performed in areas where the employee is exposed to dirt, dust, grease, and wide variations in temperature. The employee is exposed to possible injury such as cuts, scrapes, and bruises and will work in areas where there is a high noise level.
