About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Reviews each work order material list for quantity, nomenclature, description, stock and parts number, and class of item. When requisitioned items are received, notes shortages and/or wrong items and initiates action through procurement sources to re-order. Determines priority or urgent need in order to eliminate production delays created by shortage of parts. Performs a variety of functions related to the acquisition of material through local procurement actions using the Government credit card procedures. Operates 2,000-to-10,000-pound forklift to load and unload material.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a (Tier 2 - Non-Sensitive, Moderate Risk - Public Trust) suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid civilian driver's license issued by a State or U.S. possession in order to obtain and keep current a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card.
  • Must be able to work overtime.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain driver's license required in the operation of a forklift.
  • Must pass a pre-appointment physical examination and meet established requirements.

I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc.Dexterity and SafetyKnowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Physical Efforts - Regularly handles items weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted with carries up to 25 feet. Occasionally handles weight up to 60 pounds. Material handling devices and assistance of other workers are available for handling especially heavy items. Heavy exertion is frequent. Constant kneeling, crouching, stooping, walking is required. Working Conditions - Regularly exposed to possible injury associated with handling parts and materials. Work is usually performed indoors in a well-lighted and ventilated production shop area. May be exposed for short periods to outdoor conditions. Regularly exposed to shop noises, dirt, fumes, and vibrations.
