This position is located in Cody, Kemmerer, Lander, Pinedale, Rawlins, and Worland, Wyoming.

Duties
Develop and review National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents.
Lead, manage or coordinate with an interdisciplinary team on land use plans, NEPA documents, and coordinate/provide training.
Monitor and assess the accuracy, adequacy and consistency of the planning and NEPA database.
Develop and maintain positive, effective working relations with internal and external customers.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Requirements

Qualifications

For GS-09: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: working as part of an interdisciplinary team with more senior planning specialists to perform planning and NEPA document components; coordinates land use planning efforts with local, state, and federal agencies, insuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree
or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
For GS-11: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Experience with land use and multiple use resource management planning or member of an interdisciplinary team working on planning and environmental analysis processes, principles, and practices; reviewing planning and National Environmental Policy Act documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations; developing public land-related planning strategies and procedures, professional writing, and policy development.

or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or LL.M., if related.

Physical Demands: The individual in this position works primarily in an office setting with normal indoor heating, cooling, and lighting. The individual may be required to lift files boxes and books. Occasional field work might entail hiking or traveling over rough terrain to review resource issues.
Work Environment: The incumbent works in an office setting, however, field work may be required to complete projects. The employee may be exposed to discomfort from harsh weather outside of the indoor office setting.
Above duties are for the GS-09 level. At the higher-grade levels, less assistance, instruction, guidance, oversight, review, and supervision will be provided.
