About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.

Duties

Pass onto other workers instructions received from supervisor. Insure that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available. Answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Check work in progress and when finished, check for compliance with supervisors instructions provide on the job training for individual employees.

Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is performed in shop building that is moderately heated, lighted and ventilated. Work is dirty and greasy and incumbent is subject to cuts and bruises from use of tools and equipment. Is exposed to hazards of moving equipment such as fork lifts, sweepers, etc. Exposure to hazardous materials/waste is possible. Wears protective clothing and equipment (e.g., rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, respirator, etc.) as situations warrant.
