About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Serves as a technical and administrative supervisor in the Fielding Operations Division
Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors and management teams.
Determines the number and types of workers needed and which assignments can be done concurrently, which ones must be delayed, considering skills, personnel materials, and equipment available and required to accomplish specific projects.
Informs higher level supervisors of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources and participate with their superiors in the initial planning.
Redirect individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Federal Wage System employees, WG/WL/WS etc., must satisfactorily complete the appropriate annual Depot Medical Examination.
- Incumbent of subject position may be required to travel up to 75% or more to include CONUS and OCONUS travel.
- Incumbent will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment (e.g., rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, respirator, etc.) as situations warrant.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued Credit Card for TDY/Travel expenses.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain an Official Government Passport (Red) for OCONUS TDY/Travel.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain any applicable Motor Vehicle License(s) associated with position’s driving duties.
- One -year probationary period may be required for supervisory position.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Inspector Supervisor without more than normal supervision. supervisory task to provide general instructions, overall priorities, policies and control work operations to accomplish an adequate quantity and quality of work. I can supervise workers directly in accomplishing the work of field inspections and repair for a wide variety of railroad diesel electric locomotives, railroad rolling stock and a variety of Combat Vehicles that cover large geographic areas such as two or more states and foreign countries work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
