Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Review Systems Specialist you will be: Planning, coordinating, developing, and overseeing the peer and objective review of SAMHSA grants. Serving as the liaison between Review and IT specialists in the development if the ever evolving SAMHSA Grants Management System (SGIMS), the peer-review Database (PRD). Responsible for the administrative analysis and direct support services relative to the Division of the Grant Review. Serving as a resource to staff members resolving standardized operational problems improving overall effectiveness. Duties as shown are at the full performance level (FPL) of the GS-12. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the FPL.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: For GS-9: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing at least two (2)of the following: Applying analytical and/or evaluative methods and techniques to identify, consider, and/or resolve issues associated with grants. Using statistical software to handle data manipulations and analyses (i.e. database, spreadsheet and word processing software). Communicating both orally and/or writing to explain recommendations, respond to inquiries or prepare reports. - OR - EDUCATION: Have at least a master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in any field of study from an accredited college and/or university or LL.B. or J.D., if related. For GS-11: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3)of the following: Applying analytical and/or evaluative methods and techniques to the identify, consider, and/or resolve issues associated with grants. Using statistical software to handle data manipulations and analyses (i.e., database, spreadsheet and word processing software). Communicating both orally and/or writing to explain recommendations, respond to inquiries and prepare reports. Interviewing employees and supervisors to develop information relevant to analytical projects. - OR - EDUCATION: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or at least three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related of study from an accredited college and/or university. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing at least four (4) of the following: Applying analytical and/or evaluative methods and techniques to the identify, consider, and resolve issues associated with grants. Using statistical software to handle data manipulations and analyses (i.e. database, spreadsheet and word processing software). Communicating both orally and writing to explain recommendations, respond to inquiries and prepare reports. Interviewing employees and supervisors to develop information relevant to analytical projects. Performing cost analysis and budget submission.
