Duties

This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for serving as an IT Specialist specializing in network services and operating systems. Performs various assignments, both one time and continuing, related to different aspects of the MDA Information Technology (IT)/IM enterprise networks and systems. As a IT Specialist (Network Services/Operating Systems) at the NH-2210-3 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as a Integrated Event Test Team (IETT) representative to the event community to analyze, assess, develop, and implement network and systems requirements for the Missile Defense Agency Advanced Research Center (ARC) which supports critical test flight/ground test events, training events, and continuous developmental integration (CDI) events. Serves as a technical liaison on information technology networks and systems required to support the Missile Defense Agency Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation mission. Serves as Project Champion for contract actions supporting event planning and execution. Develops and delivers briefings to leadership and event review meetings and groups such as Mission Planning Meetings (MPMs), Working Groups, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) and Mission Execution Reviews (MERs) to provide technical solutions for asset requirements and provide event readiness status. Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Investigation (TS/SCI) clearance.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-03 broadband level if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Support the planning, procurement, sustainment/modernization, and management of the IT infrastructure to promote rapid reconfiguration and simultaneous activity. OR Experience in written communications, develop and present briefings, and prepare technical reports to work on a multidisciplinary science and engineering team and advise senior management on policies and procedures. OR Apply critical thinking skills to coordinate and strategically schedule new and legacy hardware/software requirements to include replacement and integration into the overall Hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HWIL) infrastructure while minimizing risk to the Missile Defense Systems (MDS) test schedule. OR Experience in Missile Defense Systems (MDS) laboratory networks, systems, and IT infrastructure. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
