About the Position: Serve as a training manager in the capacity of senior ammunition program specialist and technical consultant. This position is located at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
Duties
Serve as a training manager in the capacity of senior ammunition program specialist and technical consultant on matters relating to STRAC, POI, and New Equipment Training requirements.
Utilize a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for improvement of program effectiveness or complex management processes to conducts quality assurance checks on ammunition requirements publications and documents.
Serve as lead action officer and technical authority for the Army Munitions Working Group and Army Munitions Council of Colonels, ensuring presentations are prepared to standard, and track completion of tasks from both forums.
Display a comprehensive knowledge of policies, regulations, and precedents that are applicable to munitions management.
Develop and present complex, critical issues in both formal, informal, oral and written communications to executive level military personnel at Army Service Component Commands, Direct Reporting Units, DA, and DOD levels.
Interface between TRADOC proponents and Army units to resolve doctrinal training issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is considered essential to support DA's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization.
- This is a testing designated position. Personnel are required to sign DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
- Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.

GS-14 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical advice / guidance on weapon training strategies and munitions requirements development; developing or evaluating weapons training strategies and providing recommendations for implementation; assisting in the development of policies and procedures for weapons training strategies and munitions requirements; and conducting presentations to senior leaders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
